Pool cleaning and repair work, before and after
Real photos from real jobs: a fiberglass pool rescue, acid and chlorine washes, fresh-water refills and weekly service.
The Bullhead City fiberglass pool rescue
A loan officer called Michael about a home in Bullhead City, Arizona. The refinance was stuck because the swimming pool was in terrible condition, and the bid from the company that originally put the pool in was very high. Michael asked for photos, put in a bid $3,500 lower, and all parties agreed.
When Michael and his helper arrived, a scrape with a utility knife showed the pool was fiberglass, a type most pool companies will not take on, especially in that condition. Algae and calcium had bonded together on the walls into a spongy layer about 3/4 of an inch thick. “It reminded me of Berber carpet,” Michael says.
They drained the pool, took the layer off with floor scrapers, cleared the heavy debris, and power washed the whole pool, tile included. Then they fired up the compressor for glass bead tile cleaning, prepped the pool, and finished with an acid wash and a chlorine wash on the fiberglass.
“The results were incredible! The owners of the home were so very pleased with our efforts. Truth be told, so was I. It was one for the books.” — Michael
